SCHEDULES
Sessions are scheduled Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8am to 5pm. Primary and backup volunteers are recruited for each session, so there are options to meet everyone’s time availability. We provide services year round, with occasional needs for weather related cancellations expected. Participants are not limited to a set short session block of time
APPLICATION PROCESS
Participants referred through Children With Special Health Needs (CSHN) for hippotherapy will be notified by the program when the referral form is received. Intake forms will be mailed or emailed for completion prior to the evaluation visit. The first session will be an evaluation by the physical therapist to establish goals and plan activities. CSHN requires quarterly progress reports and reviews each client for continuation of services each quarter.
Other program riders will be mailed or emailed intake forms, including a form that must be completed by the rider’s physician prior to participating. Once forms are completed the first session can be scheduled.
If you are interested in applying for assistance with funding, refer to our scholarship page. Scholarship applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and funds granted will cover a 12-week block of time. If continued participation is desired, an application for additional funding would be required to be submitted again. First time applicants will be considered before repeat applicants.
Many of our hippotherapy clients “graduate” to the therapeutic riding programs. Some of our riders have gone on to become program volunteers as well.
RHYTHM OF THE REIN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
It is part of Rhythm of the Rein’s overall mission to provide services to participants regardless of their (or their family’s) ability to pay for those services. Where there are state and federal programs or health insurance programs, we look to them first to fund these services. Where no such funding exists, we strive to fulfill this philosophy through rider scholarships. Monies for scholarships are provided by public and private donations, fund raising events and any grant monies that we receive.
Our Board of Directors has responsibility to our donors to insure scholarship monies are well managed and appropriately spent; therefore it is our policy that our Scholarship Committee will review all requests for financial aid via the Financial Aid Application
Scholarships are provided on a financial NEED basis and on a first come first serve basis until all scholarship monies are allocated or spent. Awards are received as credit to sessions.
All applicants must complete the ENTIRE APPLICATION and submit proof of financial eligibility (copy of most recent federal or state tax return, SSI or Disability check.) All information provided will be held in strictest confidence, according to Rhythm of the Rein's Privacy Statement.
Scholarships are awarded for a 12 session block of sessions.
Rhythm of the Rein reserves the right to rescind scholarship awards as it sees fit.
Rhythm of the Rein reserves the right to waive specific requirements on a case-by case basis.
